This was a quilt made when my family went on a picnic and we didn't have a decent quilt to use. I used a layer cake by Lotta Jansdotter and some Kona cotton. Although it was my "own" design all I did was make a big HST star and surround it with a border I made using Jenny Doans scrappy four patch tutorial for Missouri star quilt co. I just used a layer cake instead of a charm pack.

Great quilt! I'm wanting to make a hst star as a wall hanging for a new baby's room! Did you use the full 10in squares for your hsts & 10in grey corners? Great colors!
Yes, this quilt was made using a layer cake and some yardage of Kona cotton, the gray I got through craftsy so I must have had 4 yards! The first gray border around the star was 9 1/2" to keep the math simple. That's what my star HST and 4 patches finished at. To make a baby quilt using 10" squares I'd prob put a 2 1/2 inch border around just the star, then a 5" border to finish. That will make it about 49" square.
