Project

Orange Crush Tote Bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I really like all the texture and colors. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used a fat quarter of Batik fabric to start. Then after Stupendous Stitching, I folded the piece in half. It was too short for a bag,, so I sewed two pieces of black fabric to both ends. I quilted some gold lines on the black fabric to tie in with the gold thread on the main fabric.

What you will need

  • Batik fabric
  • decorative thread
  • rick rack
  • bead string
  • rattail cording

Fire Girl asked:
really wonderful. What pattern did you use for the tote? thanks for the inspiration
SweetJasmine answered:
No pattern. I used a fat quarter of Batik fabric to start. Then after Stupendous Stitching, I folded the piece in half. It was too short for a bag,, so I sewed two pieces of black fabric to both ends. I folded my fabric in half and sewed the sides. I took another piece of fabric for the lining and measured the same size as the outer piece.
ViolaToffie asked:
I think this is really great! Both the bags are unique - I would be really pleased if I could do half as good.. x
