On Point Baby Quilt

The pattern is for a quilt throw but I wanted to use the very easy tube method to make blocks for charity baby quilts. So the quilt pictured is a 39.5"x 50". If you're an experienced quilter this is a fast quilt to sew the blocks and put together the strips. If you're not, there are some things about putting together triangles you should know, but this is a good place to learn. No little squares to mess with. This is a great stash buster. I love true scrap quilts ie: use what you have, no buying jelly rolls and such. I like a challenge. Every time I've gotten out of the way and let the colors just do their thing I've never been disappointed. I added a 3" border. I did not quilt. I bust out quilt tops for this charity and some one else will tie it. I am upping my free motion skills and enjoyed her lesson after she put the quilt together.

  • About half of what the original pattern called for. She used a specific square ruler. I used by 24"x6.5" ruler and followed angle guide.

Q&A with Christina Petee

Bwithmecreations asked:
For the on point quilt It calls for a background fabric to be cut into strips how do I fold the fabric and how do I cut the strips used for the background that goes with 2 .5 inch Strips set you purchase let me know as soon as possible
Christina Petee answered:
A video is worth a thousand words. My quilt was made with scraps. I used white for the background. (I think that was your question. Lack of punctuation so I'm guessing) Here's the video. She shows you how to do everything. You can also YouTube and search for how to cut strips. Something you need to see rather than a two page answer. This video was made by Angela Walters the pattern designer. https://youtu.be/uSAcJb5RoWo
