October BOM

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I tackled the blocks I didn't really want to do and learned techniques I'd otherwise avoid (eg. curved seams, paper piecing, hand-sewn hexies) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Oh, this has been my favourite class! Even if you are just starting now, take the blocks 2 a month and don't rush. You will try so many new ways of making blocks - it's so much fun! Don't overwhelm yourself by thinking you have to do them all at once.

Q&A with a1angiem

sistertammie asked:
your blocks are awesome. I have recently learned to paper piece, and just learned to perforate the paper from Amy. Isn't it neat how we can pick up bits and pieces from other people....Mine are cut out and ready to sew. I am just going through the fabrics.
a1angiem answered:
thank you! have fun with your sewing - make sure to cut the pieces of fabric large enough (that's why I had to re-do!) - I found it easier to just cut as I went, which I did on the 2nd block.
Darns asked:
Love these! And, yes, I also had to recut a couple of pieces - tried to be too saving of the fabric! Maybe Craftsy will come up with another sampler BOM - we can hope!
a1angiem answered:
the stitches were so darn (lol!) small i couldn't rip them out - impossible! so i had to redo the whole thing! one was right at the end! :( yes, i'd love another BOM, but i really would miss amy!
