New Mexico Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I'm quilting it myself! Thanks to Craftsy and Wendy Butler Burns Machine Quilting class I'm almost finished. I've quilted it using stitch in the ditch and just need to finish quilting the center, the border and the binding. I'll post pictures when I'm finished. I hope this is but one of many of my tops that I'll quilt myself. I'm also signed up for "Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine" with Ann Peterson. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't fret too much if the points aren't perfect! It's not actually sewn crooked. I had the quilt pinned the wrong way so I just turned the picture. :0)

Q&A with MaryLouiseAB

Betsy0 asked:
Good job! I like the colors too, and I'm not a fan of kits. I prefer to create as I go. I think each quilt we make teaches us a new lesson. Keep on quilting away!
MaryLouiseAB answered:
Thanks! I don't usually do kits either but this one put me back on track.
Davesmom asked:
The quilt looks great, lots of hard work. Love the design of the quilt. These are not my colors but it still looks great.
MaryLouiseAB answered:
Thanks You! Normally I wouldn't go for these colors either but we lived in Albuquerque for 6 years and it reminded me of our time there.
