My First Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am most proud that I finally decided on two teachers and just went for it. I thought why not. Both teachers were easy to understand and my husband loved that I made it just for him. He really loves the reverse quilt which is batik and black. Will post soon. I am trying my hand at machine embroidery and haven't used the machine in that capacity since 2006. I waited my whole lifetime for this event of making my first quilt. I have sewn since I was 14 and their were only a few modifications such as the quarter inch seam allowance and pressing to one side. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it. It is only fabric. Stay organized and set your seams and press before the project and during. Don't be sloppy. Be proud of what you are creating. It is the journey and the creativity that is important.

What you will need

  • I used up all my Hawaiian stash which was 100 % cotton.
