My First Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I hand quilted the top and it looks good. What advice would you give someone starting this project? No advice. I just went with it and let it do it's work. I asked for a lot of advice from the wonderful ladies at the quilt shop and now it's something my son can cherish the rest of his life. I told him, he has Mommy's arms around him when he wraps himself in the quilt.

What you will need

  • 10 inch precut blocks
  • backing
  • batting
  • quilting hoop

Q&A with Running_Girl

K Lee 2Strings asked:
Gorgeous! Great fabrics for a child's quilt - so bright and colorful. Your hand quilting stitches are perfectly uniform, too. I hope you go on to make many, many more.
Running_Girl answered:
Thank you!
andylou asked:
Looks like LJ is happy with his new quilt! You did a great job. Congrats on your first quilt. I look forward to seeing your next ones.
Running_Girl answered:
He said I could have that one back when I make him another one...lol. Told him he's now at the end of the list of recipients since he already has one!
andylou asked:
I'm sure you've been told to be sure to put a label on the back of your quilt.
Running_Girl answered:
Oh yeah. The wonderful ladies at the quilt shop told us to make sure we did this! I included what I put on the label on the description.
