My First Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I love the block of our three animals. I tried really hard to capture their personalities as best I could and I was pleased with the results. I am also proud of myself for having produced something on my own that I had no knowledge or experience with before reading this inspiring book. I was amazed that it actually turned out looking like a 'real' quilt! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Not knowing how to do something isn't a reason not to give it a go.

What you will need

  • Quilting cottons
  • fusible webbing
  • brown fabric pen
  • photo fabric transfer kit
  • buttons
  • thread
  • batting and backing fabric.

rijacks63 asked:
OMG! If this is your first quilt, you have left many of us in the dust. All of your quilts have been absolutely exquisite!
Sarah Becker answered:
All these comments are so flattering and supportive, it really means a lot to me. Because i'm not a traditional quilter and i dont really know what i'm doing I sometimes feel that my kind of quilts wouldn't be recognized as 'real' quilts by other quilters. So these kind words really are wonderfully encouraging . Thank you!
Northwoods Pat asked:
I love your quilt, and you are an inspiration to what we can learn when we really want to. I like the different textures, too, and the fabric you used for your dog in the middle.... Makes me want to reach out and touch it... Plus the personal photo of you and your husband inside the house is just perfect. Congratulations!!
Sarah Becker answered:
Thank you!
