My First Quilt!

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm so proud that I actually stuck with it and have this beautiful piece of my soul to pass on to Ella Marie. What advice would you give someone starting this project? My advice would be to have confidence in yourself. You really CAN do it! Just a little bit of patience and the desire to become a quilter and the willingness to follow directions is really all you will need. Craftsy is an excellent place to start! You are already here, so let's quilt!

Q&A with Rachel Sterwald

Pam NZ asked:
Congratulations on both your first quilt and grand child! Beautiful quilt, well done... and you've caught the bug too LOL! Isn't it so exciting when your blocks start coming together and before you know it the top is finished WOW! Look forward to seeing many more quilting projects from you. Have fun!
Rachel Sterwald answered:
Thanks so much, Pam! I'm really enjoying this "bug" that I've caught! I have all of you who share this love and talent with the world to thank for the inspiration you've passed on. I'm very proud to be a small part of this beautiful community of artisans.

Thanks so much. Yes, "obsession" is the right word for it! I may need a Quilters Anonymous group pretty soon. ;-)

Lovely first quilt! You will make many, many more. First thing you need to do is clear out lots of space for your fabric stash because it will grow way faster than you think.
Rachel Sterwald answered:
Thanks so much. I have chosen many patterns that I want to do already and that stash seems to have a life of it's own. :-)
