My cosmetic bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I was able to practice my free motion quiliting; stippling and design. Also, I was so jazzed that I doctored up plain white and black ribbon with fancy stitches that are programed in my machine...I was even impressed. I had a blast. My next design is to practice my crazy quilt skill and turn it into a bag. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I broke several needles when I stitched the bag closed over folds. So I now I switched to a jean needle and that seemed to work. Also, I used binding to give my inside seams a finished look. I am pleased. <

Tatum asked:
Love your idea of stitching the ribbon! Looks familiar! Viking Sapphire! :) I love this project too - so fast and can use scraps. I use the binding too, makes a great finished look!
Maribel4258 answered:
Bingo! I like my Viking Sapphire.
anna6 asked:
I have just finished my first bag. But I cant get all the corners to stand out. So when I turn it right side out, it does not have four clear corners. One or two work but not all. I am sewing the fold just up to the edge of the zipper. Any suggestions?
Maribel4258 answered:
Hi Anna - I thought the same thing when I first made my first bag. The corners are there you just have to manipulate them out...I hope this makes sense.
