My 1st quilted kingsize bedspread

Project Description

What are you most proud of? After months of working this pattern when I wanted a break from other projects, I completed 156 blocks. Upon reflection of how to complete the largest project I had ever created, I was overwhelmed at the idea of quilting this monster. Ann Petersen's class (Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine) was the answer to my dilemma! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Organization of fabrics is the key to enjoying the assembly process, but the information Ann Petersen brings to the table is a MUST to enjoying the quilting process!!

What you will need

  • Quilting cotton
  • batting
  • and decorative threads

Q&A with cynsewing136

Pam NZ asked:
Wow! Looks awesome, well done you.. It's a huge project, how long did it take you? Love the woven look with the shades you chose.
cynsewing136 answered:
Thanks! I started working on it the beginning of 2011, but I do a lot of different sewing and knitting projects so my timeline is longer than most. The fabric quantities for the orignial pattern were not enough when I changed my mind to make a king bedspread, so with the help of a sewing buddy, I went searching for additional coordinates. I later used graph paper to plot where my different colors should be placed to make it look like this was the original idea.

Thank you so much! I now know that with some perseverance, most any project is possible.
