What are you most proud of? I originally didn't like this modern octagon and was planning to do a substitute. I just thought it was too big and blocky (he he!) But somehow I came around and decided to try it out. I liked it so much I made two of them! In the end, all my blocks may not all play well together in one quilt, but I am approaching each one as its own study and letting it have its own flavor. I'm learning to appreciate the large scale blocks and push myself to do blocks I initially had doubts about. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't stress about if all your blocks go together if you didn't choose a consistent background color like me. That way you'll feel free to really explore different "flavors" of fabrics for each block that you do.
