Memory Quilt

What are you most proud of? The whole quilt top is made from special, used material. Some of the star centers even have the buttons or trim that were used on the various dresses. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure the used material you put into your quilt still has a lot of life left in it. You don't want to put a lot of work into something that will fall apart the first time you launder it. AND don't put buttons where your arms will rest on the quilt. During the night, their coolness can be mistaken for dampness... which doesn't contribute much to a good night's sleep.

You Can Make This

Pacific Rose made Memory Quilt with:

  • fabric from: dresses that I wore on a Mission trip to Kenya
  • plaid shirts from my deceased uncle
  • and special dresses from my daughters. A sheet was used as backing for the quilt squares.
