Memory Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Putting together this puzzle of family history and finishing what my Grandmother started so so many years ago. It was a challenge to find white fabric to fill in the 70+ pieces that were needed to complete this project. With some fabric already set and some yardage there to cut, the age of the fabric and fading played a great part. What a work of love and gratification. I was able to complete this quilt, by no means does it have the professional look to it, BUT it was totally finished by her grand daughter, me. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Patience, patience, patience. The start was the most difficult, however, setting those quilt pieces together by hand was a work of love by me. What memories I thought of during this wonderful process.

I think it's absolutely beautiful - and what a wonderful story! It's lovely to think that a project that lay for so long uncompleted has now been finished - you should be very proud of yourself and of the beautiful quilt that has forged a link between the generations of your family.
