megs double wedding ring quilt

What are you most proud of? That my daughter does have a keepsake and something that I love to do sooooo dearly. Two for one ! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use good quality fabrics, and don't skimp. I do regret that I didn't use great quality fabric and may have to fix the quilt in years to come. I will cross that bridege when needed.

I love your quilt! where did you get the pattern? I have been looking for one so I can start i and finish it for my son when he gets married. He is only 17 and not even serious about anyone I am a hand quilter so I need LOTS of time LOL

Hello, thank you soooo much, I am very pleased with this quilt and I'm sure my daughter is also. The template is from Omnigrid. It has a book and the plastic templates all in one kit. I bought it from joanne frabric. It was surly a life safer for getting this quilt done. Good luck with yours

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. It looks really, really difficult. I've been looking at double wedding ring patterns and scratching my head lately (I've got two weddings coming up - 1 in a year, 1 in 1 1/2 years)... I don't know if my skills are up to the task but I keep thinking... YOUR skills are certainly up to the challenge! Congratulations on an amazing job well done!

Please consider the template, it was great just cut out the pieces with rotary cutter then chain sew. For me the hardest part was putting it together. I couldn't decide who's ring to put where. Hope you make them !!!!

I love your quilt and I know that your daughter will love it, the fabric choice is great and very appropriate. I made one for my daughter (with acrylic templates) for her first anniversary and she has been married for 15 years now and she uses the quilt on her bed everyday. I too am sorry that I did not use the best quality fabric and now there are some repairs needed. I suggest anyone who makes this pattern to practice 4 blocks with other fabrics to test the pattern and if you want to continue, buy the best fabric and make the quilt, you WILL NOT regret it. It is a difficult pattern and I am trying to get up the nerve to make another for my daughter's 20th anniversary.

Beautiful!! My mom, bless her soul, made me a Double wedding ring quilt. It was made mostly of reds and whites...I will cherish it forever, of course I haven't used it yet. My mom had made 89 quilts when she turned 89 years old. She made my sister the double wedding ring quilt also made all the grand children a quilt. In all Mom made 102 quilts in her lifetime which ended in 2009. She was 95 and 10 months old when she passed away.

God bless her, they say quilts are made with love, and your family was blessed with LOTS of love from her.

I LOVE THE IDEA OF THE NAME EMBROIDERED. I'M CONSIDERING A DOUBLE WEDDING RING FOR A SON WHO RECENTLY MARRIED. BUT, THE PATTERN I AM LOOKING AT IS ALL DONE IN THE HOOP WITH EMBRIDERY. CHECK OUT THE HOOP SISTERS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I DON'T THINK I AM BRAVE ENOUGH TO DO THIS PATTERN OUTSIDE OF THE HOOP!!!
lopz61 answered:
I will give it a look !! thanks
