Q&A with Darns

Pam NZ asked:
Wahoo Darns, WTG you! As always, love your choice of colours, but most of all love how you've quilted it... not too much, but boy it shows off the plain blocks beautifully. Wonder whats next with your magic ruler? :-)
Darns answered:
Thanks, Pam! I was trying to not over quilt this - wanted to keep it on the soft side. It was a good experience in marking and trying to stay on the lines!
K Lee 2Strings asked:
Ooh! Nice!
Darns answered:
Thank you! It took me forever to decide how to quilt it. Those medallions really lend themselves to all kinds of motifs. The Medallion QAL on Flickr really has some spectacular quilting examples.
mtclifford asked:
You did a beautiful job! I love your quilting! Do you FMQ or longarm? I have all these finished tops and i'm afraid to quilt them! So I just keep sewing Lol
Darns answered:
No longarm for me! After taking a ton of classes here on Craftsy to learn how to FMQ my own quilts, that's what I'm doing, no matter what it looks like! I learned a lot about marking a quilt with this one. It is a challenge to try this with a domestic machine but there are so many great bloggers out on the Internet doing great quilting on domestic machines that are inspiring.
mimis quilts asked:
fabulous Darns. Your machine quilting is inspiring for me. I was wondering what ruler you are talking about?
Darns answered:
Jenny at sells what she calls a Quick Curve ruler that was used for this quilt. She has developed a lot of quilt designs used this curved ruler.
Sew bless asked:
Darns - absolutely gorgeous
Darns answered:
Thanks so much! This was a fun one!
