Q&A with Emafish

grammamaggie asked:
Wow! how on earth did you get your backing perfectly centered? Amazing work all around - beautiful machine quilting!
Emafish answered:
Thank you! To get the backing centered, I made a mark of the center of the backing (by folding), the center of the batting, and the center of the quilt top, and then lined them all up. I don't really know how I got it to be so perfect except for a lot of luck!
chawkinsrn asked:
I agree with the first comment. I have been looking for inspiration to use my leftover shapes from a circular quilt block design. You have given me inspiration. I like your palette, too.
Emafish answered:
Thanks, chawkinsrn! I look forward to seeing what you do with your leftover shapes!
4bird2 asked:
Your quilting is beautiful, And the back certainly holds its own. I hope some day to quilt as nicely as you.
Emafish answered:
Thanks for your kind comments, 4bird2! I began quilting only about 1 1/2 years ago and I can tell you it's very doable. (Funny thing is that my stippling is still not very good - so I just skip that technique!)
lekeish l asked:
Beautiful
Emafish answered:
Thanks!
tomib asked:
Did u quilt this yourself on a home machine? It's beautiful!
Emafish answered:
Thank you, Tomib! Yes, I used a domestic sewing machine. The size is about 24'' square, so it wasn't too hard to maneuver.
