King Size Bed Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The fabrics and how they came together. When my daughter-in-law first said browns and beige I was concerned because I did not want a boring quilt. I choose beige fabrics that had a bit of interest and colour to them and the corner stones and middle of the star is a fabric that has many colours of beige, dark red, gold and some brown. I thing it gives the quilt some colour pop and adds interest. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you have never done paper piecing before start with a smaller project first. Also, colour and where it is placed is going to make a very big difference in this quilt. The colour combinations are endless and I think would be very interesting to see it in different colours.

What you will need

  • Cotton Fabrics were used throughout the quilt. I made this quilt for my Son and Daughter-in-law for their bedroom for their wedding. I asked them what colours they would like and they said beige and browns. I found this pattern which I really liked and was not too difficult and then came up with the fabrics. I like the way the print fabric gives a bit of a pop.

Q&A with Jnfrsmith

K Lee 2Strings asked:
Beautiful piecing! Triangles & diamonds make me crazy. I usually resort to paper piecing. Your blocks are fantastic with perfect points everywhere.
Jnfrsmith answered:
Thanks, But that is why I said it was paper pieced. I also have trouble with perfect points etc. Paperpiecing is great isn't it.
