Q&A with MimiSC

azflyer asked:
Like the contrast and bold colors of your lone star. I look forward to seeing your completed project!!!
MimiSC answered:
Thank you so much. I am working on a much bigger lone star for the back. This quilt, finished, is a gift for my grandson's other grandmother, whose son was killed in Iraq. The two white stars represent her daughters, the six blue stars you see represent her six sons, one of whom was killed in 2007. The large lonestar on the back will represent her son, surrounded by many smaller stars.
Elizabethdx asked:
What a beautiful quilt. The colors really pop. I am sure the recipient will love the work and artistry you have put into this quilt, and I hope it brings her muchcomfort.
MimiSC answered:
Thank you. I will be adding to this design before quilting it all together, then will repost it. I hope to have our mutual grandson give it to his other grandmother, who is also the mother of the fallen soldier, on the 7th anniversary of his death in June. The family holds an annual charitable fundraiser, the proceeds given to the Wounded Warriors program.
bosteen asked:
What an absolute labor of love. Being a military mom myself, it really touched my heart. Excellent work.
MimiSC answered:
Thank you. I was lucky ~ the family I made this for is so easy to please, so grateful, and more than anything, so important to me and my family. I appreciate the compliment, however, needless to say, I wish that I could do more for them.
