Kaleidoscope

This quilt was donated October, 2017, to Las Vegas Strongs' First Responders who were on duty that horrific night. What are you most proud of? First time I tried splitting the batting. It's a great technique! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan to make extra blocks. I increased the size of this quilt. Not really knowing how many blocks I would need, I ended up with extra blocks and made pillows with them for my granddaughters. Also, if the centers are troublesome use those blocks for pillows, or something fun. Cut a circle of one of your matching fabrics and appliqué over that troublesome center. :)

Q&A with BettiesMom

Carla21884 asked:
This is lovely! I like all the secondary patterns that also appear! Did split in half or thirds?
BettiesMom answered:
Thank you! I split this in half.
NanaJeanFL asked:
Wonderful quilt! And thanks for the tips :D
BettiesMom answered:
Thank you!
Brenda P asked:
Oh, that is so pretty! Love all the bright colors! Wish I could see close-up of your quilting.
BettiesMom answered:
Thank you! The border is kind of a loopy meander with a star thrown in here and there. The rest is stitched with a walking foot. The main area stitching outlines the angles, but only stitched on the white background using a walking foot.
gingging asked:
Very pretty love the colors and pattern. Sue
