Kaffe Fassett Quilt V

Project Description

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The quilt was quilted in the hoop on my embroidery machine - the design was large enough that I was able to join the embroideries so that the quilt looks as if it had been quilted on a long arm quilter.

What you will need

  • I used a combination of Kaffe Fassett large print fabrics and Fossil Fern (Benartex) to create the front of the quilt. The back was a batik with strips of the Kaffe Fassett Fabrics.

You realize this is the back of the quilt.

Thanks. I am so new to this that I just freeze when deciding what to do! But I just have to have more confidence that it will be fine whatever I choose. Thanks for your advice. I admire your work. I hope some day my quilts will look just as good!
jmn111 answered:
You can't make mistakes. Whatever you decide to try will work. Remember that quilting evolved from a need to make things from leftovers, used fabrics, etc. People put together whatever they had and the outcome is always beautiful. So don't worry too much about what to do, just go for it.

Where do I find this saved quilt
jmn111 answered:
Do you mean where might you find a pattern for this quilt? There wasn't one - I used scraps from the other side (front) and build a strip that would make the single width of fabric I had for the backing wide enough for the quilt. It was an improvisation.
