June Campers Mug Rugs

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo June Campers Mug Rugs (pair) Link to website or photo www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/home-decor/june-campers-mug-rugs-pair/54123 What are you most proud of? I really struggled with some of the design elements. How to make the girl with the fish look jubilant was the first challenge. Much harder was the boy's mug rug. A naughty dog, a stinky skunk - what to do, how to show it? i do hope it came across clearly. My husband laughed when he saw the finished mug rugs, so I have hopes that they're okay.

Q&A with K Lee 2Strings

abanabana asked:
Oh, I love the skunk! How very funny!
K Lee 2Strings answered:
In retrospect it is funny, but I think I heard a few new words when the neighbor's dog returned to camp. lol
desna asked:
Oh I adore these and you have mastered the little girl looking jubilant, even the dog is! Just wonderful and made all the more wonderful by you sharing you childhood memories:)
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you!
Awran asked:
"you have hopes that they are ok"? Good lord, I'm green with envy, but smiling......they are OK and then some more.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
You are so sweet! Thank you.
LaurenDM asked:
I was searching for something else entirely and laughed when I scrolled past these in the search results. How adorable! Yes, you've captured it! What appliqu method do you use?
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you! I'm so glad these made you laugh! That's what they were intended to do. I use fusible web and a machine zigzag stitch on these. I've tried many variations on the machine stitching, but for these babies, I seem to have settled on a very tight zigzag, almost a satin stitch, but not quite. I'm not sure where I was with the experimentation when I made the pattern for these.
