What are you most proud of? Can't believe I had the courage to tackle this project. I have made duvet covers, etc. in the past, but merely added my binding around the edge, added the other side right sides together and sewed them all around the binding edge and then turned them inside out and whip stitched the 6-8" opening together by hand. This is my first project with quilt squares so it has been challenging. I sewed (13) thirteen 7" squares together to get my total rough sewing length and width. If I make the total length of the bottom squares longer, perhaps I can shift the squares so both sides will line up, at least close enough so I can quilt them. Any suggestions? What advice would you give someone starting this project? Having never done this type of quilting project before, and not knowing what I am doing, I am not able to give any advice, except to be more careful than I was about lining up top and bottom pieces. I am probably going to hand tie knots, rather than machine stitching, but worried how it will look on the bottom in the event Jaxson wants to use the blue side some day. Am I being too picky? Will update when I have finished the comforter/quilt. Not sure what to call it. In Hindsight, I could have bought more of the "red" top fabric, sewn it together so I had a solid piece of fabric the size I needed, then I would not have had to use squares at all. PS, I added my photos in the order worked on, but somehow they were imported out of order.
