Japanese Quillow

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Laura's Mum provided the fabric from her stash, but there wasn't quite enough plain fabric to make the usual plain back. I therefore used leftover scraps from the front to create a pattern for the back, including the back of the cushion, making the quillow a reversible one. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Think carefully about the colours you are going to use. If you have the book, there are illustrations of the same quilt made in three different colourways to help you. The background fabrics for the blocks need to be a solid colour so that the "Igeta" pattern stands out.

What you will need

  • Pure cotton fabric
  • pure cotton threads
  • polyester wadding (batting).
