I Love Leaves

Project Description

What are you most proud of? it took me a whole year to finally figure out what I wanted to do and I took the instructor ideas and changed them a bit to fit my purpose. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan out well. Take the instruction and make it your own. I ended up tweaking it for my purpose.

Q&A with Frau2le

4bird2 asked:
I'm also in love with woods and everything outdoors, actually. I'm wondering if you used the same fabrics in a different order for each leaf. I like this technique of uncovering color and I can't seem to figure it out from your pictures. These are fabulous, I hope you don't mind if I use your idea. (Oh, but I love maple leaves, oak has too many lobes. )
Frau2le answered:
I always switched one color and actually made three squares which I arranged on a aback fabric and zigzagged with variegated quilting thread. Can you see the picture in the back on right of the maple leaves? Those are I cross stitched leaves. I have leaves everywhere downstairs in my house. :-)
