That I actually completed the project as it really is a lot of hand applique. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take it slow, and try to do a little each day.

What you will need

  • 100% cotton Batik fabric for the applique
  • plain white cotton for the background
  • and 100% cotton batting.

Thanks, my first Hawaiian quilt took two years, the last few have gone much faster, I find using a really good quality cotton or batik for the appliqu really makes it much easier as it does not fray as easy.
