Gardening Delight Mug Rug

What are you most proud of? This mug rug was created as a 'thank you' for a friend who plants seeds every spring and turns up in the summer with a bunch of home-grown Sweet-Peas or Echinops. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The bee is created using strip-applique but you could use a button or add a butterfly motif instead. And if you are really short of time you could leave the bee off completely - this mug rug will still look good.
