Free Motion Freedom

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This was the most thrilling and the most terrifying quilting journey I have taken. Each 15" block has a unique free motion pattern. I encountered error codes on my sewing machine that I didn't know it had. It took me days just to figure out the magic combination that would work on my machine. I almost quit three times, but I kept coming back until I finally got it. Thank you Leah. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Leah was so helpful on getting me to figure out what went wrong after I modified my free motion foot. Just from a photo she told me to remove one rubber band loop and keep practicing. It worked.

Q&A with Denise S

Where can I find the patter for this quilt?
Denise S answered:
he pattern is Strip Search by G E Designs. It is made from 2.5" strips. I added sashing between the blocks. http://store.gequiltdesigns.com/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details_ws.asp?Shopper_id=9616430838399616&Store_id=940&page_id=23&Item_ID=1047

I love the fabrics you used in this quilt and was wondering if you cut them yourself or purchased a jelly roll, and if so which ones? I also love the way you added the sashing between the blocks to make the colors pop! It's beautiful and very inspiring.
Denise S answered:
I used a "bright" jellyroll from connectingthreads.com and added about 8 strips I cut from my own stash for variety.
