  • Practice fabric - this is very rough practice. I am planning to make a table topper instead of the lap quilt
  • so I wanted to be sure that the quilting would work on the smaller scale. I wasn't sure I could stipple in the 1 inch "slashing" that I drew out with the sharpie. I am sharing this so other students can see that the smaller scale can work. Please excuse the quilting!

Had you done it before. This looks very good for a first attempt.
Brenda P answered:
I have dabbled in free-motion quilting for several years. I first took a class at my local quilt guild when I lived in the SF Bay Area. Last year I took Ann Peterson's free motion quilting class on craftsy & did her class project. So, this is not my first attempt, but I am not an acomplished FM quilter either! I need to keep practicing, but work full-time, so not much time for quilting! :-(
