For Elise

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Quite a lot of the points are nearly perfect... but don't look too close as there are some not so perfect! I had difficulty trying to re-size this pattern as it is set diagonally on point, so I changed it so that the blocks set straight and I am pleased with how it turned out (btw this is my inexperience and not the fault of the pattern) I finally got around to making a design board as I really needed one to help me decide where best to put blocks so that there was a good mix of each fabric colour. Super pleased I have finally labelled a quilt - http://craftygemini.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/make-your-own-fabric-labels-for-free.html (really easy and fun to make) What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is a really easy to follow pattern but you need to be careful cutting and trimming the blocks to ensure perfect points. As I wanted to change the size of the quilt I found it difficult to know exactly how many half square triangles I needed, which meant I kept having to cut more which was a little tedious... I ended up with 204 of them! I also found it very useful to string piece as it kept the the blocks together and there was not as much waste of thread (always a bonus).
