Q&A with PamelafromOz

Cindy Needham asked:
Oooooh my gooodnesssss!!!! There are no words for how beautiful this is. I keep trying to crawl into my computer and get closer to it. And the edging!!!! WOW. I would sure love it if you could post some close ups and give us more information about the quilt. Congratulations on an award winning, show-stopper quilt. Hugs, Cindy :)
PamelafromOz answered:
Thank you Cindy, when I posted this I forgot to give you the credit for helping me to make this quilt as good as I got it. Your pinbasting (quilt is 224 by234cm) and ESS made it very manageable on my sitdown Sweet Sixteen. I am pretty lucky with this quilt, and permission was given to make it by the original designer. Very gracious of her.
Emafish asked:
This is stunning! I, also, would like to see some more details. How did you make the edging?
PamelafromOz answered:
Thank you, it is called a corded binding, not hard but takes a while to do. There is a dvd available on the Sharon Schamber website (it is her technique after all) that you can learn from it is magic. It would take ages to explain fully but you make the cording the same way you make rulee' in dressmaking, so you sew the strips with your blind zipperfoot and then turn them inside out to hide the seam.
