Feathers

Q&A with Marelize Ries

Denise S asked:
Stunning. oh wow. How helpful did you find the class? How many hours on a long arm does it take to reach this level of skill?
Marelize Ries answered:
Thank you so much Denise :D I really enjoyed the class, however I do not own a long arm, and do all my quilting on my little Bernina... Hours? Well, the little blue samples was my first attempt, and once I felt more comfortable I made the light larger piece... So I'd say a good 4 hours of quilting feathers is a great way to build it in your memory... Thanks for leaving your comment :-)

JoleneShindler asked:
Beautiful !!!!!!! It's amazing once we discover what we really like to quilt! Can you tell me how you did the squares? I haven't ever seen this before? Thank you & you are very talented!
Marelize Ries answered:
Thanks so much Jolene I hope I am able to explain it.. to start I quilt a tine piece with squares, then filling every second little square with straight lines rather close to each other... Then I move on to a next space with squares and filling those too..hope it makes sense?
