Fantasy Quilt Garden

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This was fairly heavy quilting for me. I am proud I finished the project and didn't let my mistakes stop me and actually completed the parts of the project I wanted to resist! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't get overwhelmed with the entire project...work slowly, one section/lesson at a time. Practice first. Just do it! You will learn so much, be 'forced' to practice and learn so many different free-motion quilting designs. Make sure you are comfortable with quilting basics first (threading your machine, piecing the project, binding, etc. since Ann does not go over the construction in much detail in this class. Keep at it and don't give up! Ann is very attentive and helpful if you have questions - and is super encouraging!

What you will need

  • cotton fabric
  • various threads (cotton
  • polyester
  • rayon
  • metallic)

Q&A with a1angiem

webyrds asked:
Very nice work! I love the variegated thread. Makes me want to get started. I babysit my grandkids in the summer and haven't had much time to really get into it. I've watched the beginning lessons and practiced some on paper but have put off the real thing. Thanks for the inspiration.

Do the grandkids have a Magna Doodle? ('erasable magnetic drawing board)...it's a great way to practice the designs and not waste paper - tip courtesy of Angela Walters (Negative Space).
