Fall Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? not finished yet, but this is for sure the most difficult of the quilts I have made, which is great for me to get out of my comfort zone - and with my house up for sale the past 5 months, quilting keeps my mind busy What advice would you give someone starting this project? make sure you can write under the fabric (I used an old sheet) once you start to sew it is nearly impossible to keep track of where each piece is supposed to go. Since there are 12 different fabrics, and each block can't have 2 fabrics the same, and you want to spread out the colours - just write it down

What you will need

  • I found an apron pattern with wonderful pumpins and fall leaves
  • I brought my hubby to the fabric store and he helped me pick out the 12 matching fabrics
  • alll cottons. The backing is a mottled flannel - I like the feel of the flannel backs.

Q&A with Brenda Hole

Nic1 asked:
Hi! Which magazine did this project come out of? Thanks!
Brenda Hole answered:
I;m pretty sure it was from Quilters World, one of the fall issues - it is called Asian Scrap Happy? let me iknow if you still can't fing it and I will see if I can get a link for you
jclinton asked:
I take the online version of Quilter's World and have been looking at this quilt over and over. Glad to see another version of it. Very beautiful!!
Brenda Hole answered:
thank you, I have trouble sometimes in seeing a project in different colours - my husband now comes with me on all my fabric trips and as you can see he has the eye for colour.
Bearken asked:
Love this pattern, and your choices of fabrics ... looked it up at quilters world and came up with a differant pattern, Any other name this pattern may be under, thanks,
Brenda Hole answered:
I can't find the original magazine, but my photocopy of the pattern I used says Page 70 Quilters World, October 2011
