Fabric Puzzle Collage

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It turned out well, and I am inspired to do more. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't over-think it, but plan your colors ahead of time.

What you will need

  • This was made in a class to learn the technique of piecing fabric with iron-on adhesive
  • topstitched with standard zig-zagged thread. It's kind of a stained-glass effect.

This looks like stainglass! Amazing on every level. Nice work seemw like an understatement:)
BrightIdeas answered:
Sew sweet of you! It does look like stained glass, and after this class I was inspired to try more (after my UFOs of course!) and nature themes make the best results, I think! Thanks for commenting!
Linda Po asked:
OK, now I am going to have to put my current project to the side and try this - very nice!
BrightIdeas answered:
It's really fun, and you need LOTS of fabrics to choose from (never a problem, right?) I was able to do the design and layout in the 2-hour class, and took it home to do the black topstitching. Thank you for commenting!
Cherine Fleyfel asked:
Just one word gorgeous!
BrightIdeas answered:
Why, thank you so much! I love this piece, it combines 3 of my loves: butterflies, batik, and sewing! :)
