Drop Anchor Mini Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I created a chain-stitch rope using six strands of embroidery thread and added a bright red button at the end. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you are new to quilting and patchwork, make just one block to start with. You make the half-square triangles larger than needed and then trim them to size - this is always a good method in my opinion.

What you will need

  • I used 2½" squares to patch the background and grey linen for the anchor.

Sadly this pattern is no longer available to purchase on craftsy :(
The Patchsmith answered:
Thank you for letting me know this. I'm surprised to see this - I only posted this project recently. I will contact the pattern designer to make sure it isn't a broken link.

Loved seeing these projects. I'm trying to get some sense of size. A lot look like placemats. Are they?
The Patchsmith answered:
Yes Dell, I am addicted to mug rugs which vary in size from 8" x 4" to 10" x 6" - big enough for a cup and a cookie. (Check out my blog for 'what is a mug rug'). I do make the odd mini quilt too and this anchor is a 12" block from a pattern. I like functional items that look good and add a pop of colour to my home.
