It's sickening- I mean, impressive, on how organized you are! I am really liking how the purples are looking.
Lol! With so many pieces, Dude, I HAVE to be!
Lovely quilt! I have the Downton Abbey quilt kit but after watching her video I'm just too intimidated. Was looking at the Accuquilt Double Wedding Ring die and optional die that allows for the "ring" portion to be cut as a solid piece = do you think cutting the ring as one piece instead of piecing the ring would be pretty? I'm terrified of messing the cutting portion up.
Thank you for showing how to organize this kit = it will be a tremendous help if I can get over the fear.
I found the paper piecing method to be really easy, especially once you have done a few and get over the 'angle' of the little squares when added. I love this quilt and it's by far the most intricate I've ever done (and it is on my bed FOREVER!). It is a labour of love but it's really not difficult at all! It's just a rhythm and a series of tasks; it won't be done in a day. Once you have a cheat sheet and your fabric cut and organized, it's just easy sewing! You can do it!!!! I documented the entire process on my blog: overthekitchencounter and you can search for the 'double wedding ring' to see the posts if this link doesn't work.
I hope that helps. Seriously, if you can stitch on a line, and can do paper piecing, you can do it!!!! It's just a process, right? Nothing to fear! Please stay in touch and ask me (or Gail) any questions - she's lovely! I met her in person and she signed my quilt! :)
