Dancing Batiks

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Dancing Batiks Link to website or photo quiltworx.com What are you most proud of? That I was able to free motion quilt it and get the desired impact of making all the points come forward and have the rest of the quilt recede and not have the quilting take away from the pattern design overall. UPDATE 5/27/2013: - At the NCQS in Fayetteville NC this weekend, I took 2nd Place in my category, with 15 other quilts to compete against! I was so pleased!!!! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have patience. This is not your typical paper piecing. In fact, the instructions include templates for precutting all the pieces, which in this 66"X 66" quilt has over 1,000 pieces in the top. The purpose of precutting with the templates provided makes certain that all the bias of the fabric remains INSIDE and you find at the end of your quilt that you have no warbled edges. Absolutely fabulous and precise patterns from Judy Niemeyer! I learned in class the reason for such precision is due to the engineering background in the family, and truly, these are engineered quilt patterns!
