Craftsy BOM 2012

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The things I have learned. This project stretched my skills on a few levels. It is good for the grey cells. It was my first attempt at free-motion quilting - not as easy as it looks but more forgiving than I thought it would be. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The sewing level is beginner and the teacher was thorough. (I didn't have to watch every detail because I have been sewing for a long time.) So go for it! I loved digging into my stash and was surprised how it comes together in the end even though I was sure it would be too chaotic.

What you will need

  • Material from my stash except for the border on the back which was purchased for this quilt.

Q&A with TamJane

Pohrac asked:
Did you hand quilt or machine quilt it? Do you have a long are machine?
TamJane answered:
It is machine quilted each block separately and I used one of the methods of quilt assembly I learned taking "Big Projects on a Small Machine". I don't have a longarm machine and actually machine quilted a 90" x 90" quilt on a very basic Pfaff inspired by that same course. Check out Sassy Stars in my projects.
