Combined techniques

Project Description

What are you most proud of? In the first place, I was so happy to have completed the comforter. The quilting was difficult as my sewing machine has a small throat but I learned a lot from Ann Petersen's Quilting a Big Project on a Small Machine. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Never underestimate your capabilities, just go for it!

Q&A with Ana Maria A

Carol Ann Waugh asked:
This is an amazing quilt. I love how you used the Stitch & Slash techniques for some of the blocks. They really pop! Your cousin is lucky to have you in the family!
Ana Maria A answered:
Thanks, the stitch and slash blocks really popped up especially after the quilting. I'm glad that I kept it simple and that all the blocks were the same design otherwise it would have been too much. I really loved your class and have made several cushions already.

This quilt took my breath away! It's fantastic and what a great way of using the Stitch & Slash method, it seems the possibilities are endless. I love it and it must have been a huge task coping with such a monster quilt - congratulations for sticking with it and getting such a superb result!
Ana Maria A answered:
Thanks for your kind words and definitely the possibilities are endless.

Wow, I love this. It's amazing to me how those stitch and slash pieces give this quilt character. (I may have to steal your idea) since I like the process so much.
Ana Maria A answered:
Please do, I would love to see what you come up with!
