Color Wheel Scrap Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The top and binding of this quilt is solely put together using fabrics from my scraps! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't try to finish it in less than a month...it can get a bit mind boggling :) This is not a quilt made from a pattern - it's free form pieced.

What you will need

  • ONLY fabrics from my scrap bins!

Q&A with PersimonDreams

Hannah Loudon asked:
Would love to make this. Is there a pattern available?
PersimonDreams answered:
There's not really a pattern...sorry
wmboyes362335 asked:
Wow, gives me ideas for all those scaps including the load of triangles in all sizes that I have in a large stash.
PersimonDreams answered:
I have all my scraps organized by colors in bins. That helped a lot - I just pulled the 'red' bins or the 'yellow' bins and made those sections. It helped keep the chaos slightly out of my area as well ;) Have fun! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
amyable quilter asked:
I have wanted to do a color wheel with scraps for my sewing room wall and you brought my dream to life. did you use a pinning wall? and did you do it in sections? just curious where to start something like this.
PersimonDreams answered:
Here's a blog post that show's sort of how I made it... hopefully it helps but feel free to ask me anymore questions! http://www.persimondreams.com/2012/08/fabrics-n-quilts-scrap-quilt-contest-2012-free-form-quilt-wip-report-2.html
