What are you most proud of? I am proud that I was able to do all of this myself. I made the bias (over 100m) and the applique was hand sewn. I also hand quilted (with the exception of the edging) the quilt. The quilting is 3/4" cross-hashing on each of the blocks. The thing I am most proud of is that it won at our local quilt show and I never thought I would have had the ability to do that!!! What advice would you give someone starting this project? My advice to anyone wanting to do this is that it is a tedious task but the end result is amazing. Hang in there!!! Also use the most recent craft items available, for example instead of pins or basting the bias down before sewing use washable glue. (I found this out after I had finished the quilt!!!!) Don't use vlixoflix on the applique as it makes it too stiff to sew through.
