Q&A with sistertammie

Gog asked:
Wow! Impressive, love your fabrics and FMQ, especially the block with the heart in the centre. What a wonderful gift - would love to see your grandchildren's reactions, do you think they will grow up to be crafters?
sistertammie answered:
All four of them know how to sew, My eighth grade grandson has lived with us his whole life and loves to sew with Gramy. the other three are ages 9,6, and 6. They all three love to come to gramys and sew with gramy too. The younger two were the ones who helped with this one. I think they will grow up to always remember what gramy taught them. Thank you for liking my quilt.

Darns asked:
OK, Sister Tammie, I am so impressed that you went with contrasting thread color for your quilting that I now must challenge myself to do the same. Your grandchildren will treasure this time with you all their lives. BTW, love the colors in your quilt also.
sistertammie answered:
Thank you Darns. The thread thing, I almost went with the brown varigated, but I at the last minute asked Leah what she suggested, and she said the white would show off the fmq better. So I took a leep. I am pleased with the decision.
Nana Jo 54 asked:
Great job! I have just begun using designs in FMQ rather than meandering and it is a challenge but well worth it.
sistertammie answered:
Yes it is a challenge to step out and be brave on a quilt. I used to practice on pot holders or table runners. Now I brought it to a quilt. I am proud of it, but it took wayyyyy too long to do this small lap quilt....lol....
Stitching Times asked:
I'm impressed! Whoever receives this quilt will love it. I think it's so neat that the children helped. A real family treasure for sure.
sistertammie answered:
Thank you, it was fun
