Chocolate Mint Quilt Top

Project Description

What was your inspiration? I've had this lovely fabric sitting around in my drawer for a couple of years and decided to put it together quickly in a very simple pattern. Unfortunately, the colors don't show up well at all in the photos. As soon as I find time I'll go looking for fabric for the back. Oh, no! That means I'll need to make another trip to the fabric store! However will I survive? lol

Q&A with K Lee 2Strings

sewbug57 asked:
LOL, you sound just like me !!! ANY excuse to go fabric shopping. Yesterday I took advantage of a huge sale going on at a fabric store near me...fat quarters for $1 and 25 for $20. Oh, you better believe I jumped on that and I might go back and get more before the sale goes off. Your quilt is SO beautiful !! I love it...anything to do with chocolate I love.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
That was some sale! A number of years ago the children of a local quilter held a huge garage sale and sold all of her fabrics for $1 a yard. What a stash! She had whole bolts of some fabrics. You can believe I stocked up that day. Most of it's either used up or given away, but I still have several nice pieces tucked away.
Sandra in CA asked:
Very cute and I love the name it is just mouth watering. It looks like the chocolate and cream fabrics are the same print but different color ways, am I correct?
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you. Yes, the two large floral prints are the same with different background colors. The lighter one is actually more peachy pink than the photos reveal.
Pamillia asked:
This is really pretty. Very nice job. Please show us some pictures when you get it finished. Thank you for sharing.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you. I will put up photos, but I'm in no hurry to finish this one. There are two others desperately wanting to be made. What can I do?
Arlene C asked:
Can't wait to see the end result. Very nice!
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you. I'll definitely put up photos when it's done.
Betsy0 asked:
I could come help you shop. You'll probably need a friendly opinion
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Super idea, Betsy! And I could help you pick things out, too. Are you coming through Nebraska anytime soon?
