CeCe's Tinker Tote

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The colors and how they all came together so nicely. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be patient! This bag was not difficult, but was time intensive. On my next one I will use a lighter interfacing on the lining - this one was too stiff for the finely woven cotton of the lining.

What you will need

  • A fat quarter bundle enhanced with some fun fabrics from my quilting stash
  • batting
  • Decor-bond
  • and a magnetic snap closure
  • and canvas chevron fabric for the bottom.

Q&A with CeCeC

Tara Rebman asked:
Looks great! The interfacing will soften with use!
CeCeC answered:
Thanks, Tara! I love, love, loved this class!! Your instructions were so clear and easy to follow. This definitely won't be my last Tinker Tote!!!

Nice bag...love the colors. I like the way you did your binding and your bag has a nice slouch to it...
CeCeC answered:
Thank you! I like the binding, too, but it was actually not intended to be that way. I wanted the grey to show on the outside, but that piece of fabric was a very finely woven cotton rather than "quilting" cotton. It wasn't looking nice when I tried to fold it over halfway. This was a compromise, but I ended up liking the hidden look even better.
