Project Description

What are you most proud of? the fact that by observing it on tv ,I was able to write down the instructions. I'm pleasantly pleased with my first attempt, and I'm already planning on a larger version for my twin bed. I also love the fact you don't need a backing or batting or an edgeing. I put on an edgeing because it needed something for width. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I'm really new to quilting. never had time when I was working full time. start with smaller project like a table runner and colors or themes you might already have. Have the courage to try somthig new and surprise yourself. You'll get inspired to do more than you think.

What you will need

  • I used muslim squares and music scrap material for inserts as a theme. Around the edge has a crocheted edging. a table runner for the holidays.my first try at this.

Q&A with merlene sloan

StitchingTeresa asked:
This is beautiful! I've made ornaments out of them, but now I want a tablerunner to match my ornaments! To make an ornament, you put two back to back, then turn 1/4 turn and sew the ends down...and you have your front and back that way to add your different fabric! You can stuff the inside w/a little batting before whipstitching the top closed and add a little string to hang it on the tree...or ribbon...would be perfect w/this runner! I'm so excited! I want to start making this ASAP! lovely!!!
