What are you most proud of? i really put off doing the actual painting, not knowing what to expect! i'm glad i didn't give up and finished the project. P.S. Also, most proud that my daughter said it was awesome, that she wishes she could paint like that, and that the leaf looked real! that made my day! :) What advice would you give someone starting this project? putting the flower together is easy. i had a hard time choosing the right fabrics since i don't have a large stash. i would make sure to select fabrics for the stem & leaf that have more contrast than mine. i bound my piece with rattail binding & a zig-zag stitch as learned in the stupendous stitching class. i bought all the required paints and am sure i can use them on another landscape quilt, but if you only want to make the flower, you won't need so many colours!
