Q&A with Arlene C

rmaguire@sover.net asked:
I have one of these in the works.
Arlene C answered:
Aren't they fun? This is my 2nd one that I've finished.
deborahc53 asked:
I just finished a D9P top over the weekend. I love it. And I love yours! I was wondering what I was going to do for the quilting and yours looks great like that. I may steal it. :)
Arlene C answered:
I am still learning to do quilting on my home sewing machine. I stitched in the ditch for the big blocks and used blue painters tape for the straight stitching. Then I did free motion in the outer borders. Since I am still learning/practicing free motion, had to undo and redo before I finished. Finally decided it was "good enough" and called it done.
desna asked:
Lovely quilt and fab free motion... I have only done stitch in the ditch. Very impressive.
Arlene C answered:
Thank you. Stitch in the ditch is also harder than it sounds so that's why we continue to practice. :-)
Kaydebee asked:
Love the diagonal stitching. It really gives the D 9-patch a unique look. I like it.
Arlene C answered:
Thank you Kaydebee. I still fear free-motion quilting the entire quilt. I like also like diagonal quilting using the serpentine stitch.
