Building Blocks #1

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This was a Leah Day project for FMQ. I realized I do not enjoy FMQ, so tried to do the same designs with my walking foot. Then along came Jacquie and boy do I enjoy quilting with my walking foot. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try something different that you enjoy.

Q&A with Ladymax

Jacquie Gering asked:
You are on fire!!!
Ladymax answered:
Thank you for this course. In the past three years I have made about 200 small baby quilts and have tried FMQ , but most of the time, I would quilt straight lines. Now I have many designs in my head sand at hand thanks to you. I now enjoy the quilting part of making quilts for my premies.
QuiltDude asked:
I KNEW this was the latest Leah Day project - I follow her blog, but didn't participate in this quilt along. Well, what can I say? I am so sorry FMQ did not work out for you, but am really happy you've found your groove with the walking foot. Your quilting looks wonderful on this project, Ladymax. Can you tell me more about your premie baby quilts? Do you do this for a charity, or donate them to a hospital?
Ladymax answered:
Good to hear from you QuiltDude. I really have found my groove, even though it took time and a lot of classes. Thanks for the kind remarks. My premie quilts are all donated to one hospital which has a very large natal area here in Toronto.
