Bride of the Needle Case

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Translating something fairly spare in its original design into something using complex patterned fabrics. I'm not 100% convinced I got it to work, but it was certainly interesting to try, and I plan to return to this type of design in the future. What advice would you give someone starting this project? You need to be comfortable with small curved piecing and Y-seams, which can get quite fiddly. I used flannel for the lining. This turned out to be a good base for a needle case, better than the felt I had originally been using.

What you will need

  • Quilting cotton
  • flannel
  • press stud
  • satin ribbon.

Q&A with Tenar

Novensnow asked:
I love your colour choice. I have some of these colours and have not used them as yet but seeing your case I will
Tenar answered:
Funnily enough, I still find these fabrics quite intimidating to work with too.
